4-2 Blog: Effectively Impacting the Consumer Through Digital Media

TALE OF TIGER'S BIG ADVENTURE

In 2015 a young boy mistakenly left his stuffed tiger on a Southwest flight after they left the plane. Employees from Tampa International Airport took the responsibility of utilizing social media to reach their target audience of traveling families with young children. According www.happiness.com, “Feel good stories can achieve a positive mood and happiness.” Their Facebook June 2015 initial post had 38k likes, 2.7k comments, and over 16k shares. The comments were overwhelmingly positive. The customer experience was addressed very well by the consumers sharing TPA’s original post which led to a continuous flow of sharing this feel-good story across other social platforms. TPA killed this social campaign! They had such great support from followers! They interacted with their followers by commenting and liking their comments. The post was nominated  and won in the 8th Annual Shorty Awards for Customer Service – I’d say I wouldn’t change anything to make the experience more sufficient.
